Steven Powell, DMD, attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, GA, and received his Dental Medicine Doctor degree in 1990. Furthermore, he conducted his general practice residency at the Naval Hospital in Camp Pendleton, California. In addition, he completed four years with the United States Navy Dental Corps, followed by a two-year residency in orthodontics. In addition to his dental degree, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology acquired cum laude at Augusta State University. A believer in continuing education, Dr. Powell chooses to participate in a range of continuing education opportunities so that he can provide his patients with the best care possible. Each year, he takes online courses, attends meetings, reads multiple specialty journals, and consults with other orthodontists and oral healthcare specialists. He remains a member of the Augusta Dental Society, the Eastern District Dental Society, the Georgia Dental Association, the Georgia Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
